Fly Fishing Flies, Fly Fishing Gear and Fly Tying Materials from Riverwood Flies - Oregon

Carol Menser

I grew up in the Catskill Mountains of New York, the birthplace of American fly fishing. I tied my first fly a year after seeing one tied in 1966. I am self-taught.

Three miles down the valley from where I resided, lived the master fly tier and entomologist, Art Flick. We became friends and he gave me a few pointers on his tying methods. I felt honored when he bestowed high praise on my tying-especially after he had fished with a few of my flies!

Brietenbush River At one time I tied for the Orvis Company, three local fly shops and had a business from my home.

I took several years off to do world missions and returned to tying a year or so ago. It was as though I had never stopped tying.

I love fly fishing and I love tying! I think you will like my work-I know the fish do!

All flies are tied by me with the finest of materials including Whiting Hackle (the very best!) and with either Mustad, Partridge, Daiichi or Tiemco hooks (depending on the fly!)

I use only the finest materials and each dry fly is treated with Water Shed for permanent waterproofing
