Riverwood Flies, Dubbing and More! - - Fly Fishing Flies and Fly Tying Materials

Meet Fishing Guide Chris Stiles from Chestertown, NY......
My home as child was a mile from the legendary Battenkill River. I caught my first trout there when I was seven years old. I cast my first fly rod there when I was sixteen.

Now I live in Chestertown, New York married to the girl of my dreams and have two fine young sons. I teach Career and Technology Education at North Warren Central School and I am president of the local fire department.

Fundamentally, I am “Adirondack 24-7-365”--working and living inside the “Blue-Line”.

So why did I decide to become a guide?
A few years ago on a cold April morning, gentleman was walking by as I was fly-fishing. He told me that I was “living the dream”. I never really thought about it that way. I was just doing what I always did - fishing. He added there were thousands of people who wished they were in my place at that very moment. I never got his name & haven’t seen him since but, what he said has had a lasting effect on me.

Most importantly, my good friend and fly-fishing mentor, Al Hammel, encouraged me to share my fly-fishing knowledge and teaching abilities by becoming a guide. Al, being an experienced fly fishing guide, often told me how rewarding it is to help anglers experience new waters and learn how to fly-fish. Now it’s my time to share my “Living the Dream” fly-fishing experience with you.

Please feel free to contact Chris with any questions about his services, to book a trip, or to check availability.
