Riverwood's dubbing material products are sheared, dyed and blended right here in Oregon. In many cases, the tanning process is performed at our location as well. Attention to detail is a top priority in the production of our dubbing, hair and fur products. We use the materials we produce in our own flies and jigs. So maybe we're "control freaks", but maintaining some control over the materials you use and sell isn't such a bad thing, is it?

*Due to certain laws, rules and other restrictions, some of our dubbing products are not available to non-U.S. shoppers. See our International Order Policy for more information.

Dubbing Impaired?

I know several tiers out there that will use just about any body material available to avoid using dubbing - chenille, yarn, embroidery thread, you name it! Far be it from me to criticize these folks, I was once the same as them, until I watched a fellow tier put some dubbing on a thread. A whole new world of tying opened up to me. Over time, I've learned, and use, a variety of methods. Different techniques are used depending on the material, the pattern and sometimes - the tiers preference.

If you're still not ready to tackle dubbing or you simply want to speed up your tying - try our Spun-Dub products:

  • Spun-Dub Brushes - for nymphs, buggers, and most wet fly patterns.
  • Spun-Dub Ropes - for traditional dry fly and other surface patterns.
