Flies in this category include some popular Pacific Northwest "go-to" patterns. Most of them where designed with the intention of triggering the fishes "eat" or "attack" instincts.
	Practitioner	Classic Shrimp imitation Pattern. This fly is composed of Golden Pheasant feathers, natural and dyed.. Rides low in the water and looks incredibly ALIVE! Choose from a variety of colors to match your area and conditions. Great fly for most water conditions, but especially effective on coastal streams and bays - when fish are fresh in from the ocean and still have highly tuned feeding instincts. Tied on Alec Jackson 1.5, 3, and 5 size hooks only.
	Bunny Matuka	Rabbit fur strip wings and a bushy collar. The tail of this fly creates incredible action for a "slimmed down" leach. Larger sizes with bright colors work great in off-colored and heavy flows. Tied on Alec Jackson 1.5, 3, and 5 size hooks only.
	Marabou Spey	Wrapped marabou body and a bushy collar. The tail of this fly creates incredible action. Larger sizes with bright colors work great in off-colored and heavy flows. Tied on Alec Jackson 1.5, 3, and 5 size hooks only.
	String Leech	A extended fly composed of rabbit cross cut strips tied to a sturdy braided line. Hanging off the end is a heavy wire "stinger" type hook. The body of this fly creates incredible action because over half of the fly is free swimming. Larger sizes with bright colors work great in off-colored and heavy flows.
	Matuka Style	Matuka style flies are a nice addition to any fly box. Available in numerous colors. Good All Around Steelhead Fly.
	Eyed Egg Fly	Eggs or Yarn Bugs are a great Fall/Winter pattern and are quite effective in many situations. This version is kicked up a bit with weighted dumbell eyes to get the fly down in the water column. Available in a variety of color combinations. Tied on heavy wire hooks. A great Steelhead Fly.
	Egg Sucking Leech	Leeches are always a great option for steelhead, but throw a colorful bead on the front end and they become irresistable!
	Reverse Spider	A variation of the Al Knudson Classic The mallard flank collar is tied in reverse so the tips point forward ahead of the eye. Especially effective on Searun Cutthroats.
	Shrimp	Two hackles of different color from rear to head adds a bulky look. Another great shrimp imitation pattern. Great color combinations to choose from. Lots of "leggy" action with this fly. Another great fly for coastal streams and bays.
	Steelhead Humpy	A big, bushy dry fly for steelhead. When skated and swung across the water surface, this fly will bring the occasional steelhead to the surface for an explosive take. The Steelhead Humpy and other dry, skater or bomber type flies are best used in the fall when the water is low and clear.
