"Yak Caddis"![]() |
A favorite October or Fall Caddis Imitation. Co-Developed with Yakima River Guide - Derek Young, Emerging Rivers Guide Service With the foam body and Elk Hair wing, this fly floats great! Flashy underwing and rubber legs give this fly a lot of action, just like the naturals. A great late summer/fall pattern that will pass not only as a big caddis, but also works as a hopper, skwalla or other large bushy bug! Great for use in a hopper/dropper rig |
|
Bullet Stone![]() |
A great adult Salmon Fly / Stonefly Pattern A great floater with great action from the rubber legs. Drift along the bank and under overhanging branches to bring the big ones up! Many colors to choose from. |
|
Goddard Caddis![]() |
A great variation of the Goddard Caddis fly. (a.k.a. G & H Sedge) Big and Beefy - ready for rough water. Imitates the larger caddis species. A great spring/summer/fall pattern. Antelope hair contains a variety of colors - greys, tans and red, simplifying matching to local insects. Choose the Olive Dyed Elk hair version for those early summer Green caddis and the Natural Elk for the summer brown/grey caddis. |
|
Double Wing Elk Hair Caddis![]() |
A slight improvement on the original - two sets of wings for more floatation and larger profile. Rides great in the water and brings even the most wary fish to the surface! A great all-around summer/fall pattern. |
|
Split Wing Mayfly![]() |
A great mayfly imitation for use in rough water. Large and meaty with heavy elk hair split wings for great floatability. A great choice for early season fishing April-June and throughout the year in some locations. |
|
Mallard Spinner![]() |
Spinners are the egg-laying stage of a Mayfly life cycle. This pattern is borrowed from Ilene Hirsch of "Flies by Ilene". It's composed of a single mallard flank feather to make the tail, body and wings. Rides low in the water similar to an emerger so short takes and misses are minimized. |
|
Biot Body Blue Wing Olive (BWO)![]() |
Blue Wing Olive flies are a "go-to" fly for many anglers on those grey, overcast and rainy days. Fish will target the small - always hatching - bugs, especially following a rain shower with they are knocked out of the air and litter the water surface. |
|
Partridge Soft Hackle![]() |
Soft Hackle, or Flymphs, are a great attractor type fly used to imitate a variety of emerging insects. This fly is
a good choice on cloudy, cool days or when nothing much is hatching on the surface. Swing these flies in the current edges, or strip in still water. This 200 year old pattern still catches fish! |
|
Klinkhammer Special![]() |
A great all-around emerger/dry fly pattern. Insects are at their most vulnerable at this stage of
hatch and fish know it! |
